MIDAS Introduction
Page 2

In the early days the computer department was often referred to as Electronic Data Processing. Today the most widely used term is Information Technology.
And though the computers have become smaller, faster and more economical, at least one aspect has not changed very much - the need to manage computers, applications and networks to insure performance and availability to the business applications.
A wide range of tools has been developed to make the task of IT management easier. There are tools for monitoring servers and application; monitoring networks; monitoring transactions, back-up and recovery; configuration management; help desk and much more.
Each of these tools plays an important role in insuring business application performance and availability. Each of these tools has its own configuration data. A new service or even a new release cannot go into production until all of these tools are properly configured.

MIDAS is a growing family of products designed to make IT management easier by increasing transparency and by automating routine tasks.
